Good News

When we pick up the bible, it should be with the intention of finding out what the will of God is for our personal life. We should open up our heart to receive truth and light in hopes that the Holy Ghost will establish us in every good thing in Him.
Hebrews 4:12 says, "For the word of God is quick, powerful, sharper than any two edged sword piercing even to the dividing asunder of the soul and spirit, and the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." This let's us know that God knows our thoughts before we do. He can look around the smile on our face and see the frown in our hearts. He knows the hidden hurt that we secretly keep from everyone else. He also knows the secret iniquity that hinders us from entering His presence with boldness.
Isaiah 55:8 says, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are my ways your ways saith the Lord, For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts." It is a source of comfort to me to know that the bible is a record of God's ways and not man's.
The bible sheds light on many of life's mysteries. We understand that God spoke creation into existence, looked at it and said that it was good. It took Him six days and on the seventh day He rested. I haven't found a record where He did anything else to creation since that time. He rested because He finished.
That's why the sun is still going up and down as scheduled. The moon and stars are still doing their job without complaints. In all the generations since creation, there has never been a call to a repairman.
Jesus came into the world, born of a virgin and lived here for thirty-three years. He worked many miracles, healed the sick, raised the dead, made the blind to see and the dumb to speak. He preached the gospel to the poor and set at liberty those who were bruised.
The bible is a book of good news to those who need to know it. To the poor it means a way out of their poverty. To the sick it means wholeness and well being. Jesus accomplished every work that the Father gave Him to do. He died on a cross hanging between two thieves like the worse death row criminal. When He hung His head and said "It is finished", it was. The price for our salvation was paid.
Jesus is now at the right hand of God representing us as our High Priest. He intercedes for us twenty-four seven. Everything that we will ever need to live in victory has been provided for us. We are covenant heirs and joint heirs with Jesus. Our inheritance is already in place for us. Jesus took care of everything.
It is time that we walk, talk and act like who we are. We need to fill our minds with scriptures that remind us who we are and what we have, so that we can possess all our riches.
Satan would like for us to think that the bible is not important. Insecurities, shame, guilt and inferiority complexes dominate our society. People are looking for encouragement, strength and hope, but aren't finding any. The bible is God's message to let men know that He is their way out. No human life is complete without a fairly good understanding of the bible.
God had a definite plan for man's life on earth. As we believe the Word with our heart and trust what it says, we will see the hand of God working for us.
