Trust God With Your Seed

We have all heard the saying that, "Whatever you plant will come up again". Not only is that a true saying, it is a spiritual principle taken out of the Word of God.

You see, it’s the nature of a seed to produce after it’s kind. That’s the way God created it. Therefore, if we plant bad things, bad things will come up in our lives. In the same way, if we plant good things, we can expect good things in return.

When we plant our seeds, we have no choice but to trust God to make it grow. We simply need to have faith in what we plant, and wait patiently on God to produce.

There are many types of seed that we can plant. One of my favorite is to give someone a smile or a word of encouragement. We never know the impact of a smile can have on someone we meet. In our dangerous society, it’s easy to be cynical. But we must be alert of every opportunity we get to plant a seed.

I also enjoy being a financial blessing to others. We can also give mentoring and encouragement to our children or our spouse. We may not think of helping to strengthen our immediate family members as sowing seeds, but it is. Think about all the broken homes in our communities. Youth are scattered all over the place with no sense of moral control. If families would practice planting kind words to each other, I believe that it would help to strengthen homes tremendously.

It’s easy for me to sow kind words because I like to talk to people. I haven’t always been that way. At one point in my life, I was very shy. But speaking kind words to people and making them feel better did something special in me. I not look for opportunities to be an encouragement to others.

I try to be kind to people because I want them to be kind to me. There may be periods of time when it seems like nothing positive is happening, but don’t give up. Keep planting your seed because that’s the evidence of your faith at work.

The devil will always tell you that nothing is going to happen and we are wasting our time. But he is just a liar. Just keep trusting God to bring your seed to a harvest. He can take a little and multiply it beyond your imagination
