"2004" - Our Year For More

I heard a preacher say that this is a year for more for the children of God. When I heard those words, something within me was moved to agree with it. So I started thinking about the things that I wanted and needed more of this year.

I started meditating and searching deep within my heart to find out just what I needed. I wanted to make sure that selfish ambition was not my motive, but rather something that would affirm the move of the Spirit within me.

So I found myself praying and asking God for more of Him in my life. I wanted more power, more joy and more of the things of the Spirit. I wanted to help hurting people and see them free of bondage. I wanted to give more, love more and live a more compassionate life.

I decided that it really wasn’t my year at all, but it was God’s year. So I told God that I wanted to yield my will to His purpose all of 2004. I told God, "However you want to use me, whatever you want me to do, wherever you want me to go, I submit my heart to you". You see, the Word says that if we are "willing and obedient", that we would eat the good of the land.

Jesus paid for all of us with His own blood. We are not our own anymore; we have been bought with a price. The greatest contribution that we can make is dedicated service to God. And that is exactly what I intend to do.

Perhaps you need more of something this year. More money? More peace? More healing" Whatever it is can be yours if you determine to make God your greatest pursuit. If you have to turn off the television, put down the newspaper and stay home from the mall, then do it. Put the plan in motion and do not stop. Seek His will for your life and spend quality time with Him. Let this be your year to receive more from God than you ever have before.
