Watch Your Words
I have often witnessed people who would let anything come out of their mouth. Even young women today are careless and wreck-less in the manner in which they speak. In general, people say whatever comes to their mind. They have no consideration who they offend; they just speak. They never think that the main people they may be hindering are themselves. But it is so important to watch what we say. When those words come out of our mouth, we cannot take them back. We own them. There is a phrase that is common today that says, "You can have what you say." But if you would stop and listen to the words that you speak everyday, you really don’t want what you are saying. I really don’t believe that we can live victoriously without being well informed in regards to the power of our words. When we have problems in our lives, we talk about them instead of talking to them. But talking about them doesn’t help. We must consistently say what the Word says about our problems. Start saying positive things about vital areas of your life. Things like: "I don't have the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7); " I am dead to sin and alive to righteousness" (Romans 6:11); "I love all people and I am loved by all people" (1 John 3:14); "I am a doer of the Word; I meditate on the Word all day long" (James 1:22, Psalms 1:2); "I cast all my cares upon the Lord for He cares for me" (1 Peter 5:7); "I don't give the devil a foothold in my life, I resis the devil and he flees from me" (Ephesians 4:25, James 4:7). You see, you can say what the Word says about yourself and others. It is very important that you watch the words that come out of your mouth. Like John Olsen says, "There’s a miracle in your mouth, and you can have what you say according to God’s Word". By: Lindia Brown |
