Touched By God

Have you ever been touched by God? As I think about the many ways that God has touched me, I cannot help but feel special and privileged.

When I speak of being "touched" by God, I am not talking about Him literally reaching down out of the sky and touching me with His hand. But I am speaking of an experience that is deeply personal and intimate. I am speaking of His ever-abiding Spirit inside of my heart, always there to guide and encourage. I am speaking of His anointing giving life to hope that should have been abandoned long ago. I am speaking of His Word that quickens, and brings to life a mountain crushing faith that dispels all doubt and fear. I am not boasting in anything from within myself, but in His grace and mercy that He renews each and every morning.

God loves us so much, and He wants so much to be an active part of our life. He wants to touch us in a way that we will never forget. One day Jesus touched a person with leprosy, and he was cleansed of that dreaded disease immediately (see Matthew 8:3). He touched Peter’s mother and healed her of a feverish illness that had in bed. She had so much energy that she jumped up and cooked supper. His touch opened blinded eyes and did so many wonderful things for people.

God’s Word touched my life one day, and I haven’t been the same since. I see myself healed, prosperous, and full of joy and peace. Who wouldn’t want a life like that? Everybody should.

A touch from God can turn your life around. I don’t want to sound overly simple, but the best thing you can do is to receive His touch. He will touch you in a way that no one else can. When we understand this, we will see that no event is really insignificant. The time when you were sick and suddenly felt better, that was God touching you. The time when you faced a financial pressure and somehow the money came through for you. That was a touch from God. We need to understand that He is touching us all the time in so many ways.

I want to encourage you to trust Jesus with your whole life. Look for His touch in ordinary events in your life. Then you will see that His presence is everywhere.
