The Word

How important is the Word of God to you? How often do you read it? How much of it do you know and believe? How much of it have you allowed to change you from within?

Well, when we made Jesus the Lord over our life, the Word became first place in our life. The Word impacts all of our daily living. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things become new 2 Corinthians 5:17 Jesus said that man does not live by bread alone, but by every Word of God Matthew 4:4.

The Word of God renews us as we trust and obey what it says. The more we expose ourselves to the Word, whether by Christian books, tapes or videos, the more it renews us. There are all kinds of ways to study the Word.

If someone were to ask us something about the Word, we should be able to tell them. We may not know it all, but we should know something. As we trust God to provide for us, we gain valuable experience. When we consistently obey the Word, we will be able to encourage others to trust and obey Him also.

We must know the Word of God in order to do what it says. We must believe it before we can put it to work for us. The Word of God is the answer to our problems and the key to our success. God loves us; He gave His Son for us. He said that He would never leave or forsake us.

I understand that sometimes things can get so tough that we feel like giving up. We can’t go by how we feel, and acting like God isn’t there at all. He sees everything we are dealing with. Every time we pray, He is right there listening. We may never be able to escape our feelings, but we can choose to believe the Word over our feelings.

I challenge you today to read the Word every chance you get, and don’t forget to do what it says. The Word will change your life forever.
