But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory 1 Corinthians 2: 7-8.

September 11, 2001 is a date forever engraved in the hearts and minds of the people of America. It is the day that terrorist systematically carried out their plans to hijack U.S. planes and use them to destroy strategic sites in the heart of a country known for liberty and compassion. They took our freedom, hospitality and willingness to help others, and used it to try and destroy us. Since that day, our nation continues to deal with the shock and devastation as we clean up and attempt to rebuild New York and Washington. History proves that ever so often, the creative mind of hate launches a scheme so demonic and desperately wicked that men are left in disbelief and despair.

The scope of this crime has been compared to Pearl Harbor. It was on December 7, 1941 that the Japanese submarines and carrier planes attacked U.S. battleships and airfields. Eight American battleships and 13 naval vessel were sunk or badly damaged. Almost 200 American aircraft were destroyed, and approximately 3,000 military personnel were killed.

The Japanese thought their sneaky attack would force the United States to submit to defeat. Their thought the massive lose of life and property would create such fear and terror in our hearts, that we would give in to their demands. But they made a great miscalculation.

Instead of giving up, the men of our nation enlisted and took up arms. Every citizen who didn’t join the military went to work in factories producing the supplies needed to sustain those on the battlefield. America lowered their standard of living, and willingly sacrificed and rationed resources. And from the day of the attack until the victory was won, they joined together as "One nation, under God".

The same thing has happened. The individuals (whoever they are) that plotted this horrendous evil, has made an even greater miscalculation. They think that they will reach their goals by murdering and maiming the innocent. They think that we can be controlled by fear, but they are so wrong. America is showing the world the kind of country we really are. When the passengers of the fourth plane discovered the plans of the hijackers, they took them down. The rescue workers in New York were on the scene so quickly, that many of them lost their lives under the tons of burning and collapsing rubble. Daily, blood centers are so crowded with blood donors that they had to make appointments. Large corporations are donating millions of dollars and goods to the families of victims, and the federal government will put billions into the recovery and rebuilding efforts.

Our enemy thought they were smart. They thought our leaders would panic and run around bumping into each other. Instead, Congress stood united behind our president. They refused to act rashly. Our president used patience and intelligence to put together the evidence needed to deal with the situation appropriately. He did not order our military to start dropping tons of bombs on a vacant field while our enemies sip tea and watch in on their television. No. There will likely be a real fight in the places that rejoice in terrorism, and who donate their entire life to bombing innocent people in the name of "god".

A similar thing happened 2000 years ago on Calvary. The terrorist of that day figured that by murdering one innocent person, they would succeed in keeping what they considered sacred. They claimed their cause was righteous and noble, and they put their deceitful plan into motion. And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all, Nor consider that it is expedient for us; that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not John 11: 49-50. Any cause that involves murdering the innocent is a serious miscalculation. Killing Jesus Christ did not bring about a solution; it only sealed their eternal defeat. Jesus ravaged the deepest corridors of hell’s darkest secrets, and brought eternal salvation to light. The Name they tried to stamp out is praised by free nations everywhere.

It is hard to think that any good can come out of such devastation as this, but it will. America is about to become an even greater superpower than World War II. The president is calling our nation to prayer, and no one is claiming violation of rights. Professional football teams cancelled their games and joined our nation in payer and reflection. When the news got out that several companies were attempting to raise gas prices, authorities set up a web site to report anyone attempting to take advantage of this situation.

Adversity doesn’t make a person; it shows what a person is made of. America is coming together under enormous grief. While it may be true that as a nation, we have wandered away from our spiritual heritage, we have not forgotten God. It only takes a moment to find Him. In the time it takes to drop on our knees, He is right there with a hand of mercy and grace to help us in our time of weakness.

I want to encourage us to uphold our nation’s leaders in intercession. Let’s pull together as one man. And whatever transpires in the future, we face it together. If we must go on the battlefield, we will go as one nation with a God that has never lost a battle.

To all of the victims and their families, we at Gospel Warriors Ministries are with you. We feel your loss and hurt; you are not alone. Together we will prevail. We will come through. We will be closer to God and each other when this is over.
