The Savior Is Born

Every Christmas season, we hear the same story over and over again. The baby Jesus born on manger, the heavenly host announcing his birth, and the wise men following the star to worship Him.

But no matter how many times we hear it, it is a truly great story. If He had not been born, then He would not have died. If He had not died, then there wouldn’t be any resurrection. If there were no resurrection, there would be no salvation. Then we would not be a part of His body today.

Jesus came that we might have life, and have it in the full. Not only was He born into this world, but He came alive in my heart, my soul and my spirit. And that life has been the most incredible blessing in my life.

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I am always reminded how Jesus gave His life for me. And thinking about it makes me want to give to others. It is not important to me that I receive a gift, as long as I am able to give to others.

I especially enjoy celebrating His birth with family and friends. We always try and remind our kids what Christmas is really about. It is not about "give me, give me, give me", but about "give, give, give." When you celebrate Christmas, don’t forget to tell your children about the birth of Christ. Tell them why He came and His desire to live within them.

Receiving Christ is the best gift anyone can receive. He is the babe born in a manger. But His birth made salvation possible for mankind everywhere. I hope that your Christmas will be something special this year, and that Christ will come alive in your heart like never before.
