Remembering Patience
Patience is a word that no one likes to talk about very much.
Since patience involves waiting, and no one enjoy delays, patience is pretty
much none existent in our world today. Even Christians have forgotten what it
means to wait on God’s best.
The bible says that faith worketh patience (James 1:3) and we
walk by faith (2 Corinthians 5:7). Since the Christian walk is a faith walk, it
is impossible to live for Christ without using patience.
If we believe God for something, patience allows us to never
give up hope. It helps us to learn about God, and to trust Him to do what is
best for us. When the answer to our prayer is delayed, patience tells us the
solution is on the way.
But let patience have her perfect work that ye may be perfect
and entire, wanting nothing James 1:4. So we need to enter into God’s
rest, and not allow doubt to rob us of our victory. God has given us exceeding
great and precious promises. He has planned our entire future, and we cannot get
ahead of Him and make things happen on our own. We must trust God, seek His
wisdom, and wait patiently.
You see, patience always responds the same way. No matter how
we feel, we make the decision to believe what the Word of God says. We believe
God to help us solve our problems, and to bring us out of the financial pressure
we are under.
Patience is not a quick easy fix, but it is a powerful
spiritual virtue that will lead us over pitfalls and into God’s best. Make a
choice to exercise patience in all of your affairs, and you will see God working
in your life.
