Our Relationship With Christ
When we make Jesus the Lord of our life, we develop a very close relationship with Him. This relationship is so very important. As we live this life for God, it is vital to know and experience all the things that He has in store for us. We need to be informed of His will for us at all times. This happens as we develop a relationship with Him. God wants so much to talk to us. He wants us to bring our concerns to Him. He wants us to experience the reality of how much He loves us. This means having Him as a part of our life each and everyday. Having a relationship with God is not like having a relationship with people. For example, in relationships involving boys and girls, family members and so on, there is always something negative going on. Mom and dad have a difference, siblings fuss and fight and girl friends and boy friends break up. It takes so much effort to try and make things work out. But a relationship with Christ is not the same. There is peace, joy and contentment at all times. Christ is someone we can absolutely trust at all times. He is never upset or disgruntled, and is perfectly patient and understanding. He knows everything about us, and His interest in us is genuine. The tougher things get for us, the closer He sticks to us. We can tell Him exactly how we feel about things, even when we feel pretty pathetic. He works with us to help us understand things that are best for us. Once we start a relationship with Christ, we have the promise that He will never leave or forsake us. I want to encourage you to start a relationship with Him today. If you already have a relationship with Him, deepen it. Make those exchanges more intimate and meaningful. Talk to Him regularly. Study His Word and obey it. Fellowship with Him. Worship Him. Then you will see how the time you spend in God’s presence is your greatest treasure. By: Lindia Brown |
