The
Power of Prayer
…Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven Matthew 6: 9-10.
We have recited that prayer all of our life. We were simply taught that it
was the Lord’s prayer, and that was it. But we need to understand, that there
is power in the Word of God, and there is power in prayer.
We need to understand the importance of prayer in the life of a child of God,
and how vital it is to be diligent in daily prayer. When we pray to God, He
hears us. And if He hears us, then we know that He will answer us. If we knock,
He will open the door.
God will always give good things to those who ask Him. He is a rewarder of
those who diligently seek Him. In fact, God wants to give us what we desire. And
He will do it if at all possible. I am so thankful to God for all of the
precious promises in His Word because all of His promises are yes and amen.
Ask God to help you to believe in Him with all of your heart, because
whatever we ask for in prayer and believe we shall receive it. And all
things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive Matthew
21:22. God will help us to trust Him where the answering of our prayers are
concerned. We not only need God to answer our prayers, we need Him to help us to
believe. God will give us the necessary faith to receive the answer to our
prayers so that our joy can be full. We are totally dependant on God for every
aspect of the Christian life. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by
prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto
God Philippians 4:6.
We need to become true prayer warriors and intercessors in the army of God.
That means that we commit to learn how to pray and believe. We need to learn how
to pray without ceasing and to ask without wavering. The bible says that the
effectual fervent prayers of a righteous man availeth much (see James 5:16). It
is impossible to measure the extent of sincere prayer. It reaches further than
we can ever imagine.
Now if we pray according to the will of God, He will always hear us. And
if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the
petitions that we desired of him l John 5:15.
Let us keep on praying and never think about giving up. Prayer is more than a
religious duty or a way to get an urgent problem solved. It is a vital part of
our spiritual life, and it contains the power to move the heart of God.
