"Pharmakin" -The Babylonian Phenomenon

Revelations 18 tells of a phenomenal power which sways the minds, souls, and bodies of men and women everywhere and earns more money than any other industry on earth.

According to Biblical history, the power that made Babylon great is called "pharmakin" translated sorcery, or witchcraft. These mind-alerting practices have been used since the creation as a substitute for the power and provision of the living God. We see these practices at work when Pharaoh calls forth his wise men and sorcerers to cast down their rods which also became serpents in Exodus 7:12(KJV).

The terms "pharmacy" and " pharmaceutical" are derived from this term. The greatest boost to our economy and the forces responsible for influencing the behaviors of men are "DRUGS."

Legal "pharmakin" alone, are the biggest industry on earth. This multitrillion dollar business is unlike any other in existence. The wealthiest man on earth is probably not Bill Gates, nor some Arab oilman, but drug manufacturers shoe profits exceeding 10,000 to 20,000 percent of their products.

When the drug Phen-Fen was removed from the market, it had earned more than one billion dollars. Other drugs (Viagra, Olestra etc) are showing astronomical profits. Chemotherapeutic agents, cancer-treating drugs have excelled to a trillion dollar market.

America is in trouble and so is the world she supplies. Despite the best efforts of pharmaceutical researchers, and the widespread use of antibiotics, death by infectious diseases have risen from the 5th to the 3rd leading cause of death closing in on cancer and heart disease.

Drug-resistant pneumonia, tuberculosis, and the more "glamorous" killers like AIDS, and the Ebola virus have all reached epidemic proportion.

The CDC (Center for Disease Control) in Atlanta is begging researchers to find a new antibiotic to control the increasingly high reports of new outbreaks.

Antibiotics have been credited with saving lives for centuries and were dispensed with extreme caution, but today they are given out like lollipops. Instead of curing diseases, they have become breeding grounds for other types of illnesses.

We are a world on the brisk of disaster. Our nation is sick and in need of a cure. In order to be restored, we must embrace the principles set forth in II Chronicles 7:14. " If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

It is time we begin to present our bodies as temples of the Holy Ghost. We must be subject to God or suffer the consequences. The government nor the CDC have an answer to the questions perplexing us. I ask, "Is there no balm in Gilead?" Is there no physician there? While we thank God for Christian doctors, we must not ignore the Biblical principles concerning our bodies. God alone is our healer. We must seek His guidance and help for a cure. We must look less to his provision and more to his promise. The only successful conclusion was outlined by Solomon in Ecclesiastes 12:13,"Fear God and keep his commandments for this is the whole duty of man." His Anointing - is the only power that will heal us and make us Great."
