This Is Your Life

This Is Your Life (Out of Eden Review)

After over six years and three albums, Out of Eden is still going strong. The group is made of three sisters (Lisa, Andrea and Danielle), and they are accomplishing things many other groups can only dream of.

I got a chance to see them perform at Sam ford University when they were touring with Crystal Lewis. They were talented, energetic and true to their faith and music. They left an authentic mark on the audience without showing skin and belly buttons.

They have already sold over a million records, and have been nominated for seven Dove awards. They hold the record for having the longest running number one music video (Looking For Love), and each of their first three albums had million selling singles.

Their latest project neatly entitled, "This Is Your Life", was co-written and co-produced by Lisa. In many interviews the group admits to sensitivity to social issues. Instead of retreating behind the doors of the sanctuary, they are actively involved in inner city ministry. They go to where the hurting is; where they can really make an impact.

The album is firmly based in contemporary R&B with a solid message in each song. "Different Now" uses a catchy offbeat to invite fans to take a closer look at the change Christ can make in their life. On "Showpiece", the girls turn down an invitation to get more physical in a relationship. I particularly enjoy "Praise You", a worship ballad that says, "To live my life in awe of you is the least that I can do". When we consider the greatness of God and the love He gives to us, how can we not respond in adoration and praise? The title cut encourages young girls to stop sitting around home waiting for the phone to ring. God has a destiny for us, so take advantage of every moment we have and live for Him.

Once again, Out of Eden has delivered a mature no compromise disc that encourages and challenges youth to take a stand for Christ. When parents hear this album booming in their teenager’s room or car, they can be sure that something special is going on. "This Is Your Life" by Out of Eden. GSP approved for repetitive listening.
