No Record KeepingBut I, yes I, am the one who takes care of your sins – that’s what I do. I don’t keep a list of your sins Isaiah 43:25 Message. From the day we are born, there are records kept on us. The doctors keeps up with how much we weight and when we get our vaccinations. As we get older we have to get a social security number, a drivers license number, and a telephone number. We even have an address so that people can find us. Not only do we have all these different numbers, but all the numbers are different. No one else has my telephone number. It’s a special number so that a person who wants to reach me will have no problem tracking me down. But when it comes to our sins, God doesn’t keep records. He doesn’t keep any files and He won’t be contacting us about them. God, in Jesus Christ, forgives and forgets every one of our sins. If there were a page to record our sins, it would be blank. Jesus died on the cross for my sin and yours. The debt has been paid in full by His blood. That’s why when someone mistreats us, we should remember what Jesus did for us and forgive him or her. It may be hard, but Jesus will help us. Prayer: Dear God, thank you for not keeping a record of our sins. Help us to forgive others that mistreat us. In Jesus’ Name. Amen. |
