No ExcusesIf you are a born again Spirit-filled believer, you have no excuse for compromising your walk with God. The Word of God is your road map, and the Holy Ghost is your guide. Everything has already been laid out for you, and you can have success of you will simply walk in obedience and faith. Living a saved life is similar to traveling down a highway. There are many hills and mountains, crooks and turns, bumps and dead-ends that you must experience before you reach your destination. But if you carefully follow the map, you will arrive. I believe that you can make it. Jesus Christ was born of a virgin. He came in the flesh and walked here on earth without becoming stained by sin. Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth 1 Peter 2:23. That may be difficult for you to imagine, but he did it. Jesus proved that it could be done, but there is a price to be paid. Jesus died and rose again, and completed the work needed to obtain your salvation. His authority is described in Ephesians 1:21 as being far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. He has the keys of both death and hell (see Revelations 1:18). Jesus defeated Satan for us, and gave us power over him. We have no excuse to compromise. I don’t want to sound condemning, because if you should slip up, Jesus is our intercessor and High Priest. According to 1 John 2:1, ...And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous. That does not give us an excuse, because the first part of the verse says, "Sin not". But if you are looking for an excuse, you might overlook it. So stop your pity party because Jesus is not going to attend. You won’t find excuses in feeling sorry for yourself and acting pitiful. You are in a battle, and you need to make sure you have your armor on. You have no choice but to fight, so get yourself prepared. The scripture tells us that we are overcomers, more than conquerors through Him who loved us. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed Isaiah 53:5. The bible also says in 1 Peter 4:1, "Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind..." Let’s face it, being in the flesh, we suffer many things, and denial will not make it go away. We are God’s sheep, and sheep cannot make it alone. They need a shepherd. Sometimes the shepherd has to reach out with his staff and pull us back in line to keep us from injury. Jesus is our great Shepherd. We have no excuses, so we may as well get in the Word of God. Heavens backs up the Word of God. When Jesus returns, He will come at expectant people. Whatever condition we are in when He returns, that’s the way we will be. So let’s be ready; without spot, wrinkle or any excuses. Heaven and earth may pass away, but the Word of God will remain. Be found in the Word. By: Naomi Brown |
