Giving God Thanks

How many times throughout the day do you give God thanks? Do you spend most of your time begging Him to meet your needs? Most of the time God has already provided everything we are asking Him for. The Apostle Paul wrote, "But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." That’s something to thank God for.

The Lord has done so much for us. We should really be mindful to start thanking Him more, and responding to Him with a grateful heart. We should not take His blessings for granted, but give Him all the praise and worship He deserves. It is written that God inhabits the praises of His people. If you will but start praising Him more, He will be able to help you solves some of the problems in your life.

If you are sick, praise Him for your healing. If you are poor, praise Him for wealth and prosperity. You see, those things belong to us because Christ has redeemed us the curse of sin. We are being presumptuous; we are claiming what is rightfully ours.

O that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men Psalms 107:21. The Lord is so good. The things He does for us can only be classified as "wonderful". He has given us life, and provided us with peace and joy. We were wonderfully made in His image and likeness; therefore we each are a collector’s item.

So whenever you feel that you are at your lowest point, start praising for your deliverance. Start exercising discipline to come out of debt, and praise Him until the victory comes. Get your mind off your problems and give God thanks for the answers. Meditate on the things that God says about you, and continually renew your mind to His Word. You will soon discover that there is more than enough to thank and praise Him for.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things Philippians 4:8.
