What Matters Most

What matters most to you right now? Is it your wardrobe? If you could completely update your closet, what would you buy? What would you keep? How much time would you spend on the task?

Now think for a moment. Not one of those outfits will make us a better person. They may look cool on us, but it will take a lot of work to keep them clean and in good condition. If we consider our whole life and the things that will impact the type of person God desires us to be, those outfits won’t matter that much.

Youth today think styles are important. They love name brand clothes. But when how we dress define who we are, we are headed for serious trouble.

Styles change like the weather. Fads come and go. We cannot afford to place our worth on things that change so easily.

The important thing is to focus on what matters most to God, and what He wants our life to look like. It’s about being the kind of person that God wants us to be. A good starting place is Mark 12:30 and Matthew 6:33.

When Jesus returns, I assure you that it won’t matter what outfit you have inn your closet. The thing that will matter most is how faithful you are to Jesus Christ.
