The Love That Matters The Most

This is the month of February. It is a time when we remember the people we love. It is a time when husbands and wives, boyfriends and girlfriends focus on how special their love is for one another. It is also a time when significant individuals like teachers and friends are reminded how much they mean to us.

Everybody expects to receive something. It may be a box of candy or a special card that expresses a heartfelt sentiment. It may be a simple balloon, a box of roses or a dinner date.

I sincerely hope that you enjoy love this month, but the greatest love of all is the love that God gives. It is the love that really matters the most. He loves us not only on Valentine’s Day, but every day. His love will be there when all others wax cold.

You see, you may not have a husband or boyfriend. You may not be accustomed to receiving anything at all. But God still loves you, and you can feel His love inside. He gave His greatest gift to you a long time ago. His love helped you when you couldn’t help yourself. He came through when it mattered the most.

You see, you can’t love without giving. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but shall have everlasting life John 3:16. God’s love is greatest and so are His gifts to you.

He not only gave His Son, He also gave us healing, prosperity, peace and hope. He gave us things that will last forever, long after February 14th.

The candy will soon be gone and the flowers will wither. The cards will be put away in boxes, and the balloons will lose air and fall to the floor. But the love of God will be there forever. He gives love everyday.

We should be the same way. Don’t save love until the month of February. Find a way to give love everyday. So when you don’t receive anything on that day, it won’t really matter. Because you have received from God the love that really matters.
