Don’t Stop, Keep Going

I remember when my daughter Rebeckah first learned to ride a bicycle. She had such a hard time keeping her balance. Over and over again, she crashed into the bushes. With tears in her eyes, she got up and tried again. Finally one day she made it all the way up the street without falling. It wasn’t pretty, but she made it. Now she is 19 years old and driving.

Getting up after you fall down is hard to do. Falling is painful and embarrassing; it makes you want to give up. It’s seems like it’s easier to close the math book than to stick with it and figure out the solution. It’s easier to follow the crowd going the wrong way than to do the right thing and be different.

The bible says, "I can do all things through Him who gives me the strength" Philippians 4:13. In other words, I can keep on going. If we trust Jesus Christ, He will give us the strength we need to not give up. After all, Jesus didn’t give up when He died on the cross. He kept on going until He got the victory for us.

Jesus wants to help us, but we have to trust Him. He can help us make decisions that please and glorify Him. He will help us with all the hard things that we face.

Prayer: Dear Lord, sometimes it is so hard to do the right thing. Help us. Give us your power to succeed. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Read Philippians 4:13, 19-20.
