Integrity of the Heart

Integrity – Perfection, non-stop honesty with God and yourself. Integrity will preserve you if you walk in it. Integrity demands excellence. It is the same yesterday, today, and forever based on the Word.

Integrity demands quality. It is the same behind the curtains as it is in front. It is perfectly honest and open, and never has to cover-up. It says what it means and means what it says, no interpretation needed.

If maintaining the quality of integrity involves denying yourself, then do it knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord...Ephesians 6:8.

The integrity of the upright shall guide them Proverbs 11:3. Integrity will guide the upright around the snares of pride and greed. Most decisions are already made if you go the way of integrity. Forasmuch as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lust of men, but to the will of God 1 Peter 4: 1-2.

When we uphold God’s Word, we bear fruit that glorify Him. For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God Colossians 1: 9-10. 1 John 3:22 says, "And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do those things that are pleasing in his sight." In other words, we have confidence on prayer when we are walking in integrity.

We have to constantly work at integrity. Just think about if you were God and could not lie, what would you do? Constantly remind yourself that Satan is the father of liars.

Meditate on the Word. Put it first. Judge yourself, and you will not be judged with the rest of the world.

The first step to acting on the Word is decision. There are two levels of decision: Live in love and walk by faith. Put the Word first. Be determined. Whatever we are surrounded by the most shapes our desires. What we constantly look at will become what we say and do.

We have been called to show forth the excellences of our God. We are to go the extra mile when no one else is looking. We are to do the works of God when no one pats us on the back.

Little fixes spoil the vine. Show forth His glory by living a lifestyle of integrity. Work to become a living epistle. He that has integrity in the little things will ultimately become ruler over much.

Integrity is God’s plan. Make it your plan too.
