Incomparable God

There are many single young people that want to get married. But for some reason it’s just not happening for them. Therefore, they end up having to be content with God.

Lori Smith, a 25-year-old single woman who vented on God about His delay in sending a husband her way, discussed this problem in an article. When she settled enough to hear God voice, God asked her, "If you have to be content with me, how do I measure up?’

That’s a great question to ponder. How does God measure up to the guys or girls that you have dated or hope to marry? A quick search of the bible reveals that God is incomparable. Here are a few examples:

He’ll never leave us or fail us (Romans 8: 38-39; Hebrews 13:5)

He always listens (Psalms 116: 1-2)

He always forgives (Psalms 86:5; 1 John 1:9)

He knows our limits (1 Corinthians 10:13)

He knows the smallest details of our life (Matthew 10: 29-30)

He guides us (Psalms 32:8; Proverbs 3: 5-6)

He has good things planned for us (Jeremiah 29:11)

He cares about us (1 Peter 5:7)

He counts our tears (Psalms 56:8)

He provides peace in any circumstance (Philippians 4: 6-7)

He’ll meet all our needs (Philippians 4:19)

We can all be honest with God about how we feel, but one fact stands out. No person can compare or measure up to all He provides for us. Too often we overlook the simple yet amazing things that God does for us, yet He remains faithful.

I hope that after considering all that God does for us, not only will you accept being content with God, you will want to be; whether you marry or not.
