Think About That"Think About That", the debut project from attorney turned artist is like a warm cup of cappuccino; it starts out warm and delicious, but the more you drink the more flavorful it gets. Rowe’s voice brings to mind Justin Timberlake or Brian McKnight. He has a clear pure expression that perfectly suit’s the soulful pop tunes he sings. Though many of the arrangements are light and jazzy, the lyrics express the depth of Rowe’s faith, and the conviction that comes from self-examination and living the faith. "Broken" is a prayerful request for God’s guidance, written during one of Rowe’s "valley moments" when difficult testing and uncertainty abound. I’m broken/ Now I’m ready for You to pick up the pieces/ Direct me/ Mold me/ Accept me/ Hold me/ Put the fragments of my life together again. "Blessed Assurance" is also a standout trac proving not only Rowe’s incredible voice, but his great songwriting as well. The lovely worship song "Everlasting" was the first single to reach Christian radio introducing the world to this solid composer. No doubt about it, George Rowe needs to be taken serious. After surviving severe abuse as a child, he went on to be adopted and complete a degree in law school. He is a classic example of using our faith to overcome obstacles, stay on course and reaching our goals. "I grew up listening to Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson, and that influences my writing, singing and piano playing. My life has been music, but I have never had the opportunity to share my music." Rowe stated those words in an interview, but God has opened the door. With a unique voice and plenty to say, George Rowe proves he can bridge the black/white divide with a message of hope, peace and salvation. |
