Predicting The Future
When computers were first built, they were so big that they filled up a whole room. The men that worked with the first computers predicted that by the year 2000, a computer would weigh 3000 pounds. But today we have computers that sit on a desk, in a book bag, or even in a pocket. And those computers can store many times more information than those old computers. People have always wanted to tell the future, but it mostly doesn’t work. Some people pay others to tell them what will happen. But you really can’t depend on what they say. Only God knows the future. King Nebuchadnezzar asked the prophet Daniel to explain a dream that revealed the future, but Daniel told him that God in heaven was the one that revealed mysteries (see Daniel 2: 27-28). Every day of our lives, we face a future that is unsure. Sometimes good things happen, and at other times bad. But we don’t have to worry about it. The God who knows the future loves us and is watching over us at all times. That’s a future that we can truly predict. Prayer: Thank you Go for loving us and for being with us during all the uncertainties we face. In the Name of Jesus. Amen. Read Acts 16: 16-20. |
