How To Excel In LifeAverage. Mediocre. Perhaps that is a label someone has given you. It may have been your peers or your teacher. It may even have been your parents. But for whatever reason, you believed it. And as a result, you have never come to expect anything special out of life. That’s not the kind of existence God wants for you. We should never settle for a life of mediocrity, but should instead feel the total freedom to pursue the unique destiny that God has for us. God wants us to excel in life, but we need to focus on several things.
God made us unique and extraordinary. He gave us our looks and our individual talents in order to become all that He designed us to become. We need to accept who we are and be grateful for it. That’s our worth. The moment we set out to become what we feel someone else wants us to be is the moment we start living a lie. We can greatly respect ourselves by living a life consistent with who we really are. Be honest. Be humble. Find things that you love to do and do well. Then do them in the best way you can for as long as you can. Be enthusiastic. Take initiative. Be reliable. Make wise decisions. Be positive, and never listen to the voice of compromise.
Where we are right now is our opportunity. We cannot afford to wait until something better comes along. We must trust God to help us find the possibilities in the impossibilities that we face. If we allow it to, fear will prevent us from acting. Make a habit of living courageously.
With spiritual fruit growing in us and God’s love motivating us, we have everything we need to enjoy exciting life. As God leads us, we are free to serve others. If God places an idea or dream within us, we should act upon it. Don’t be afraid to take risks as long as it’s the right risks. Ask God for the grace to persevere and not give up.
Time is something that never stops. Once we spend it, it’s gone. We have no time to waste gossiping, holding grudges or trying to please everyone. We need to think and pray about what our priorities and plan our schedule around that. Wasted time is wasted life.
We must focus on being efficient and develop a pace that we can maintain. And when the future looks dim, we can’t let go of our hope. I want to encourage you to live life to the fullest and trust God to do great things in you. |
