On last month I spoke to you somewhat about how important it was to discipline your flesh. This subject is so vital, that I decided to do a second part.

When you made Jesus the Lord of your life, you became a new creature. We must begin a new way of living by renewing our minds to the Word of God. Romans 12:2 says that we should no longer be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind. This is a spiritual work that the Spirit of God does in us, but unless we put the Word in our minds, it won’t work. When we start putting the Word in our mind, we actually invite the power of God to work within us.

The flesh does not like to be disciplined, therefore mind renewal may always seem like a struggle. It is definitely not something that we can achieve overnight. It requires persistent study and meditation; a day by day and moment by moment walk with God. If we really want to experience bringing every thought to the obedience of the Word, we will have to get into the Word every opportunity we get.

On last month, we mentioned the word "lasciviousness". It is the thing that causes our flesh to go on unrestrained. But at the same time it restrains the prompting of our spirit. If left unnoticed for even a short period of time, we can get into a spiritual mess. That is why it is so important to discipline our flesh from things that will harm us and tear down our spiritual man.

I want to encourage you to surround yourself with the things of God. If we successfully put the Word of God in our minds and keep it there, it will make us free. Then we will experience consistent victory in every area of our life.
